72 According to Martha (Greiner) Chase, there were 2 boys and 2 girls in this family. Both boys died relatively young and without children.

The story Martha related is that the Schuster boys were lumberjacks in the northwoods of Wisconsin. Both boys became ill, so their father went up to get them. He brought them home, and in doing so became sick himself. All 3 died as a result of their illness. While I originally had some reservations about the factual reliability of the story at the time she told it, I have only been able to locate the the 2 boys (Joseph and John) and both they and their father all died in the summer of 1873. Hopefully an obit will solidify this story some more.
